How Tree Service Utica Works
Tree Service Utica removes, trims and grinds out trees for homeowners and property owners in Utica and across the Mohawk Valley and Oneida County, from Rome and Whitesboro to New Hartford, Clinton and the villages along the Mohawk River.
Every job starts with a visit. We look at the tree itself (species, lean, dead wood, cracks, decay at the base, signs of emerald ash borer on ash trees) and at everything around it: the house, the garage, fences, the neighbor's yard, overhead wires and the path a crew and equipment would take to reach it. On older Utica lots, with houses close together and driveways that run along the side of the house, access often decides how a tree has to come down more than its size does.
We also check whose tree it is. In the City of Utica, trees owned by the city may not be trimmed by anyone other than city staff unless a permit is obtained first, and many street trees stand between the sidewalk and the curb. If a tree looks like it may be on city property, we tell you before quoting and point you to the Parks Department's Tree Maintenance Division. Trees tangled in power lines are a job for the utility, not for a tree company.
After the visit you get a written quote that lists each tree, what will be done to it, what happens to the wood and brush, whether the stump is included, and the price. Nothing is cut until you approve it, and any change in scope is agreed with you in writing first.
How we work
- One tree, one line on the quote: the work, the cleanup and the price.
- Lowering limbs with ropes where a branch cannot simply be dropped.
- Lawns, beds and driveways protected from equipment where we can.
- Logs left, cut to length or hauled away, as you choose; firewood stays local.
- Storm calls handled in order of danger: trees on roofs and blocked exits first.
- Payment only for work you approved in writing.
